SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Thursday thanked the Central government for providing additional financial assistance to the Union Territory.

In a post on X, the Office of the Chief Minister said Abdullah expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for approving an Additional Central Assistance of Rs 5,000 crore for Jammu and Kashmir.
The Chief Minister said the funds will help accelerate development works, expedite infrastructure projects, and strengthen welfare initiatives across the Union Territory.
