SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Monday met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi and discussed a range of key issues concerning the Union Territory, including restoration of statehood, governance reforms and reservation policy.

During the meeting, Abdullah raised several administrative and public welfare matters and underscored the need to address issues impacting the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
According to officials, the discussions covered the Transaction of Business Rules, rationalisation of reservation, and other governance-related concerns. The two leaders also reviewed the prevailing security and economic situation in the Union Territory.
Both sides discussed measures aimed at maintaining peace and stability while ensuring balanced and inclusive development across Jammu and Kashmir.
The Chief Minister stressed the need for coordinated efforts between the Centre and the Union Territory administration to strengthen governance and accelerate developmental initiatives for public welfare.
