SRINAGAR : Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Friday met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi and discussed several key issues concerning the Union Territory, including restoration of statehood, finalisation of the Transaction of Business Rules and rationalisation of reservations.
The meeting also covered other important matters related to public welfare and development in Jammu and Kashmir.
Omar Abdullah briefed the Union Home Minister about the First International Film Festival of Jammu and Kashmir (IFFJK), scheduled to begin in Srinagar next week.
The Chief Minister also thanked Amit Shah for the timely assistance being extended to Jammu and Kashmir in the wake of flood-related damage reported across several areas.
The meeting comes as the J&K government continues to pursue issues including restoration of statehood and other administrative and policy matters with the Centre.
