CM Omar, Other JK Politicians Condemn Gulmarg Militant Attack

   

SRINAGAR: Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir has condemned the militant attack that killed four army personnel, including two porters and two soldiers. Militants attacked an army vehicle near Nagin area of Botapathri along the Line of Control (LoC) in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Thursday.

Omar in a tweet named the incident “unfortunate” and expressed prayers for recovery of those who are injured in the attack. His tweet reads, “Very unfortunate news about the attack on the army vehicles in the Boota Pathri area of North Kashmir which has resulted in some casualties & injuries. This recent spate of attacks in Kashmir is a matter of serious concern. I condemn this attack is the strongest possible terms & send my condolences to the loved ones of the people who lost their lives. I also pray that injured make a complete & swift recovery.”

Jammu and Kashmir People’s Democratic Party President, Mehbooba Mufti also condemned the attack. Taking it to her X handle, she wrote, “Shocked & deeply saddened by the militant attack on an army convoy in Baramulla in which a civilian porter has been killed. Condemn it unequivocally & pray for the swift recovery of the injured soldiers.”

MLA Handwara, Sajad Gani Lone expressed similar sentiments on his X handle. He tweeted, “Strongly condemn the senseless act of terror in Gulmarg. The increase in terror attacks after an elected government is in place highlights the disdain and contempt that these terror elements have for democratically elected governments. There is a significant spurt after elections. My thoughts with the families of those who lost their lives. May they rest in peace.”

Jammu Kashmir Apni Pary President Altaf Bukhari condemned the attack and expressed condolences to the families of deceased. In his tweet, he said, “My heartfelt condolences go out to the family of the porter who lost his life in today’s Gulmarg attack. I pray for the swift recovery of the injured soldiers. Such acts of terror harm the well-being of the people and deepen their suffering. I strongly condemn this senseless violence.”

While talking to media, Jammu Kashmir BJP President, Ravinder Raina said, “Pakistan’s terrorists attacked an Indian Army vehicle which was passing from Baramulla’s Gulmarg. They do not have the courage to face the soldiers of Indian Army, and that is why, they attacked them from the shadows. These terrorists will not be spared. India will find each one of them and punish them.”
