SRINAGAR: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, accompanied by senior officials, visited Sonamarg market on Tuesday to assess the damage caused by a massive fire that broke out last Saturday.
The devastating blaze reduced 45 shops, including several hotels, to ashes.
During his visit, the Chief Minister assured affected traders of all possible support and immediate relief. He emphasised the government’s commitment to helping them rebuild their businesses and livelihoods.
Later, CM Omar Abdullah chaired a meeting attended by the Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, SSP Ganderbal, MLA Kangan, and other administrative officials to discuss relief measures and fire safety enhancements. (KNO)
