Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, Monday inspected the newly-allotted premises of the Directorate of Information & Public Relations (PR) near Polo View in Srinagar.
The complex was earlier with the J&K Public Service Commission, which shifted its offices to the new Complex at Ram Bagh, last year, an official statement said this evening.
Mufti Sayeed went around the premises and issued immediate directions to the Chief Engineer, R&B, to begin renovation-cum-restoration work of the Media Complex so that it is made functional at the earliest. He also called for landscaping and beautifying the lawns of the premises, the statement said.
“The new premises should come up as an integrated Media Complex with various offices of the Information Department including the Directorate, the Public Relations wing, Field Publicity wing, Cultural wing, Audiovisual wing, Research and Reference wing, Youth Information Centre, Women’s Information Centre and other related sections operating at one place,” the CM said on the occassion.
Pertinently, the complex had suffered damages in September 2014 floods.
