A wreath laying ceremony for the two police men was held at DPL, Srinagar who were killed in Lal Chowk shoot out on Saturday afternoon.

 The wreath laying ceremony was attended by Advisor to chief minister, Qamar Ali Akhoon,deputed by Chief minister Omar Abdullah, Minister of State for Animal Husbandry Nazir Ahmad Khan Gurezi, D G Police , Ashok Prasad,ADGs,IGs,DIGs,SPs of different wings of Police,Civil , security forces officers and jurisdictional police officers of Srinagar police.

 Two policemen were killed and a girl got injured when suspected militants opened fire in Hari Singh High Street, Saturday afternoon.

 Two police personnel HC Mohammad Maqbool Mir, number 971/S son of Ghulam Ahmad Mir resident of Gondipora, Pulwama, Sgct Nazir Ahmad  Hajam number 1405/S son of Ali Mohammad resident of Shurath, Kulgam and a girl Ishrat daughter of Ali Mohammad Magrey resident of Ganderbal were injured in the firing incident. Both the police men were declared dead by the doctors when taken to hospital. The injured girl is being treated at the hospital.

“Mohammad Maqbool, Head constable, is survived by aged parents, wife, three daughters and a son while as Nazir Ahmad, Sgct, is survived by aged mother, wife, a ten years old son and a seven years old daughter,” a police statement said.
