The State Cabinet which met in Jammu on Thursday under the chairmanship of Chief Minister, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed accorded sanction to constitution of Skill Development Mission with Chief Minister as its Chairman.
The Cabinet approved skill gap mapping in the state across various sectors and focus on imparting 50 specific skills covering heritage industry skills, traditional trades, modern trades and agriculture based skill enterprise. The Cabinet has also approved constitution of a high level monitoring committee under the Chairmanship of Chief Secretary to oversee the policy directions given by the apex skill development mission and take specific initiatives and measures for the skill development.
The Technical Education Department would be the coordinating department for Skill Development initiatives.The Cabinet also accorded sanction to the implementation of R&R Plan for Kishen Ganga HEP.
