Cold wave conditions continued in the Kashmir Valley and the Ladakh division on Sunday as minimum temperatures remained below the freezing point.

Drass town in Ladakh division was the coldest place in the state where minimum temperature was minus 21.5 degrees Celsius.

Leh town in Ladakh registered the minimum temperature of minus 6.6, while Kargil recorded minus 21.0 degrees Celsius.

Srinagar, the summer capital of the state recorded a low of minus 0.7while the mercury in Qazigund in south Kashmir settled at a low of minus 1.5 degrees Celsius.

The night temperature in Pahalgam – the famous health resort which also serves as one of the base camps for the annual Amarnath Yatra – settled at a low of minus 1.7 degrees while Gulmarg in north Kashmir recorded minus 10.0.

Kokernag town recorded a low of minus 1.5 degrees Celsius while Kupwara town in north Kashmir registered a low of minus 1.6 degrees Celsius last night.

Jammu city recorded 7.1 degrees Celsius, Katra town 6.5, Batote minus 0.6, Bannihal minus 1.0 and Bhaderwah minus 1.8 as the minimum temperatures.
