Cold wave conditions continued in the Kashmir Valley on Saturday as minimum temperatures remained below the freezing point.
Gulmarg famous ski-resort in north Kashmir was the coldest place in the region where minimum temperature was minus 11.0 degrees Celsius.
Srinagar, the summer capital of the state recorded a low of minus 1.4 while the mercury in Qazigund in south Kashmir settled at a low of minus 1.4 degrees Celsius.
The night temperature in Pahalgam – the famous health resort which also serves as one of the base camps for the annual Amarnath Yatra – settled at a low of minus 6.8 degrees.
Kokernag town recorded a low of minus 2.1 degrees Celsius while Kupwara town in north Kashmir registered a low of minus 4.8 degrees Celsius last night.
Jammu city recorded 8.7 degrees Celsius, Katra town 6.0, Batote minus 1.1, Banihal 0.8 and Bhaderwah minus 2.9 as the minimum temperatures.
