Cold wave conditions continued in the Kashmir Valley on Sunday as minimum temperatures remained below the freezing point.

Kargil town in Ladakh region was the coldest place where minimum temperature was minus 21.6 degrees Celsius while Leh town recorded minus 15.9 degrees Celsius.

Pahalgam the famous health resort which also serves as one of the base camps for the annual Amarnath Yatra was the coldest place in the region where minimum temperature was minus 10.4 degrees Celsius.

The temperature in Gulmarg famous ski-resort in north Kashmir was minus 9.4 degrees Celsius.

Srinagar, the summer capital of the state recorded a low of minus 4.2 while the mercury in Qazigund in south Kashmir settled at a low of minus 6.0 degrees Celsius.

Kokernag town recorded a low of minus 3.8 degrees Celsius while Kupwara town in north Kashmir registered a low of minus 5.0 degrees Celsius last night.

Jammu city recorded 6.2 degrees Celsius, Katra town 6.0, Batote 2.5, Banihal 3.6 and Bhaderwah minus 2.1 as the minimum temperatures.
