SRINAGAR: The minimum temperatures throughout the valley remained several notches below the freezing point on Sunday.

An official from the Metrological department Kashmir has forecast mainly dry weather in Jammu and Kashmir with morning fog at isolated places over plains of Valley.

“The weather will remain cloudy with possibility of light rain/snow during November 24, 25” the official said.

He however said that there was no forecast of any major snowfall till ending November.

Pahalgam in south Kashmir was the coldest place in the Valley where minimum temperature was minus 4.2 degrees.

Srinagar, the summer capital of J&K recorded minus 1.3 degrees Celsius as the minimum temperature.

The night temperature in Gulmarg – the famous tourist resort settled at a low of minus 1.4 degrees while the mercury in Qazigund in south Kashmir settled at a low of minus 2.2 degrees Celsius.

Kokernag town recorded a low of minus  degrees Celsius while Kupwara town in north Kashmir registered a low of minus 1.3 degrees Celsius last night.

Jammu city recorded 9.5, Katra 9.4, Batote 4.2, Banihal minus 0.6 and Bhaderwah 1.9 as the minimum temperatures.
