SRINAGAR: Cold wave conditions continued in the Kashmir Valley on Friday as minimum temperatures remained below the freezing point.

The weather office has forecast the possibility of light rain and snow over a few days from Saturday.

Pahalgam in south Kashmir was the coldest place in the Valley where minimum temperature was minus 5.9 degrees.

Srinagar, the summer capital of the J&K recorded a low of minus 4.3 while the mercury in Qazigund in south Kashmir settled at a low of minus 3.8 degrees Celsius.

The minimum night temperature at Gulmarg famous ski-resort in north Kashmir settled at a low of minus 5,6 degrees Celsius.

Kokernag town recorded a low of minus 3.3 degrees Celsius while Kupwara town in north Kashmir registered a low of minus 4.0 degrees Celsius last night.

Jammu city recorded 6.3 degrees Celsius, Katra town 6.2, Batote 1.7, Banihal minus 0.2 and Bhaderwah minus 0.8 as the minimum temperatures.
