College goers in Sopore protest against University of Kashmir

Students on Saturday staged a protest demonstration in Sopore town against University authorities for conducting exams from the last week of December.

The students were shouting slogans against kashmir university authorities and were demanding relaxation in syllabus.

The students said their class work started in May, however, after attending the classes for just two months; the class work was stopped due to the uprising.

Despite failing to attend classes, the government is forcing us to appear in exams how is it possible for us to appear in exams, they said. The students further added that we must be given chance to complete our syllabus and to prepare for exams.

Accusing the University of Kashmir authorities of not understanding their plight, the students, “The University authorities are adamant and do not show any intent of relaxation in our syllabus.”

The students said that they must be given chance to complete our syllabus and to prepare for exams.

Musaib a 3rd year BG student of Sopore college said that they need time to complete the syllabus and also prepare for examination.

The students were carrying play cards reading “We want Justice, Give Us Compensation,  Don’t play holly game with our sentiments and future.”
