SRINAGAR: The Collegium of the High Court of Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh has recommended Senior Judicial Officer Mohinder Kumar Sharma for appointment as a Judge of the High Court.

The recommendation was made at a meeting of the High Court Collegium chaired by Chief Justice Pushpendra Singh Bhatti and attended by Justice Sanjeev Kumar and Justice Sindhu Sharma.
Sharma is currently serving as Registrar General of the High Court of Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh. The High Court’s official website identifies him as a senior judicial officer of District and Sessions Judge rank and says he is responsible for the overall functioning of the High Court Registry.
He belongs to the cadre of District and Sessions Judge (Super Time Scale). Sharma was born on January 4, 1967, and entered judicial service on December 1, 1997. He was inducted into his present cadre on August 30, 2011.
Sharma took charge as Registrar General on November 14, 2025. A High Court order issued on that date records his transfer from the post of Principal Secretary to the Chief Justice and appointment as Registrar General, with additional charge of Principal Secretary to the Chief Justice.
The recommendation will form part of the process for his appointment as a Judge of the High Court.
