SRINAGAR: Lieutenant Governor, his Advisors, various political leaders and other organisations have expressed condolences on the passing away of senior KAS Officer Tasaduq Jeelani, who was presently posted as Special Secretary Social Welfare Department, and was admitted in the hospital a few days ago, passed away on Friday at SKIMS Medical College & Hospital, Bemina due to post COVID complications.

Jeelani also served the J&K administration as Director, Rural Development Department, Kashmir; Deputy Commissioner, Anantnag; Director, Estates Department; Director, Tourism, Kashmir and Additional Commissioner, State Taxes Department besides other assignments.

In a statement, Lieutenant Governor, Girish Chandra Murmu has expressed grief over the sad and untimely demise of senior KAS Officer Tasaduq Jeelani, who was working as Special Secretary, Social Welfare department.

“He was a dedicated officer who worked with zeal and enthusiasm. It’s unfortunate that we lost him so early,” he said.

In a condolence message, the Lt Governor has prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul and forbearance to the bereaved family at this hour of grief.

Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Farooq Khan also expressed his deep shock and sorrow over the demise of senior Kashmir Administrative Officer, Tasaduq Jeelani.

Advisor Khan termed Jeelani as one of the committed officers who always proved his mettle during his long period of service.

The Advisor said his demise is a huge loss to the Jammu and Kashmir in general and to the administration in particular and the void after his death would hard to be filled.

Advisor Khan prayed for the peace to the departed soul and expressed his deepest sympathies to the bereaved family.

Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar has also expressed deep sorrow and grief over the demise of Tasaduq Jeelani.

In his condolence message, Advisor Bhatnagar maintained that Jeelani was one of the dedicated officers who always worked for the benefit of common masses during his period of service.

The Advisor said that his untimely demise is a big loss to J&K administration.

Advisor Bhatnagar expressed deep sympathy with the Jeelani’s family and prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul as well as strength for the family to bear this irreperable loss.

Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, K K Sharma has also expressed grief over the sad demise of senior KAS Officer Tasaduq Jeelani.

In a condolence message, the Advisor has prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul and patience to the bereaved family for bearing the loss.

Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Baseer Ahmad Khan has expressed grief over the demise of senior KAS Officer Tasaduq Jeelani. He said that his untimely demise is a big loss to J&K administration.

In his condolence message, Advisor Baseer Khan prayed for peace to the departed soul as well as fortitude and strength for the bereaved family.

Chief Secretary, B V R Subrahmanyam, also expressed profound grief over the sad demise of senior KAS officer Tasaduq Jeelani.

Expressing solidarity with the bereaved family members of the officer, Chief Secretary prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul and strength to near and dear ones to bear this irreparable loss.

Chief Secretary remembered Tasaduq a dedicated, soft spoken and well-meaning officer who served with commitment in his capacity as Deputy Commissioner, Anantnag, Director, Information Department, Director Tourism, Kashmir, Director, Rural Development Department, Kashmir, Director Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department, Kashmir and Director, Estates Department among others.

The news of sudden demise of senior bureaucrat and Special Secretary, Social Welfare, Tassaduq Jeelani was received with shock and disbelief, much among his colleagues and subordinates.

At the Directorate of Information & Public Relations (DIPR) where Tassaduq Jeelani served as Director during 2014, officers and officials recalled his services and employee friendly attitude and helpful nature in dealing with the issues.

Chairing an emergency condolence meeting, Director Information, Dr Syed Sehrish Asgar termed Tassaduq Jeelani as a highly capable officer who always took a keen and personal interest in solving the issues and problems of his subordinates. “The services rendered by him would be remembered for long times to come”, she said.

Recalling his contribution during his stint at the DIPR as Director, the officers and subordinates recalled his dedicated role during the floods of 2014 when he proved his leadership traits and led the Department from the front during the unparalleled Natural Disaster.

The employees also remembered his friendly, humane and humble attitude towards his subordinates and fellow colleagues in the discharge of official duties.

The meeting prayed for peace to the departed soul of Tassaduq Jeelani and conveyed heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved family.

KAS Officers Association

KAS officers Association expressed grief and sorrow over the sad demise of Tasaduq Jeelani, a senior member of the service who passed away on Friday due to post-covid complications.

The Association lauded the services of Tasaduq Jeelani who worked in different capacities as Director Information, Director Estates and Director Tourism.

The Association has conveyed condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for peace to the departed soul.

Meanwhile, Commissioner Secretary General Administration Department, Manoj Dwivedi has also expressed shock over the sad demise of senior KAS Officer and Special Secretary, Social Welfare department, Tasaduq Jeelani.

He stated that untimely demise of Tassaduq is an irreplaceable loss for Jammu and Kashmir Administration. “We have lost a very energetic & dedicated officer who believed in selfless service”.

In a condolence meeting in GAD, Dwivedi offered prayers for eternal peace to the departed soul and prayed for strength to the bereaved family to bear this loss.

Jammu and Kashmir National Conference President, Member of Parliament from Srinagar Dr Farooq Abdullah and Vice President Omar Abdullah also expressed profound griefJeelani.

“Very sorry to hear about the passing of Tasaduq Jeelani a serving KAS officer. He has served in a number of important positions and was currently Special Secretary Social Welfare. My father joins me in conveying our condolences to his family. Allah Jannat naseeb karey,” Omar tweeted.

Senior PDP leader Naeem Akhter has also condoled the demise of senior KAS Officer and Special Secretary, Social Welfare department, Tasaduq Jeelani.

“Extremely pained by the demise of Mr Tasadduq Jeelani a senior KAS officer. Have had a close association with him over a long period. Efficient and dedicated. My heart goes out to his family. Their loss is tremendous. Allah maghfirat kare,” Naeem Akhtar tweeted.
