Surprising for many, MLC and vice president Congress party, Muzaffar Ahmed Parrey did not turn up at his native polling booth in Haigam Sopore to cast his vote on Wednesday.

A polling officer stationed at Government Higher Secondary School Haigam Sopore confirmed that neither Muzaffar Parrey nor anyone of his family members turn up to polling booth to cast their vote.

In Haigam, there were two polling stations located in High School and BPS Haigam. The highest number of votes147 out of 1000 were polled at booth number 65 while the polling booth number 67 witnessed lower turnout where only five votes were polled out of total 705.

State Congress vice president and Member of Legislative Council Muhammad Muzaffar Parray according to polling officer did not cast his vote at Haigam. “He did not turn up to cast his vote,” he said.

“It is not necessary for me to answer your every question. I voted but will not tell you where and I voted for ‘Albani’ (Plough)” Parrey told a local news gathering agency CNS.
