The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress (JKPCC) has expressed anguish over the civilian killings besides injuries to scores in the backdrop of an encounter, which broke out in the Pulwama district on Saturday.

The Congress spokesman said that Party described the killings as very unfortunate, sad and highly condemnable, calling for an end to the bloodshed.

Reacting to the civilian Killings in Pulwama, The J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) President Ghulam Ahmad Mir, while strongly condemning the loss of civilians stated that it was obvious that unabated innocent civilian killings in Kashmir valley has always been detrimental to peace initiatives initiated from time to time, besides vitiating the atmosphere, resulting in the deterioration of situation to the largest extent, Mir said.

“The civilian killings in Pulwama could have been avoided had the forces have followed SOP property, but unfortunately that has not happened, leading to the civilian killings and injuries to dozens,” Mir added

He said Delhi and Jammu and Kashmir government have miserably failed to restore peaceful atmosphere in the valley, the loss of civilians from time to time in south Kashmir and elsewhere keeps the valley on the boil and there was no end to bloodshed leading to the deep alienation among the people.
