Congress Friday slammed BJP for accusing police officers of being on the payrolls of Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI and militants.

“Such statements are highly irresponsible, senseless and objectionable. Being a legislator and a citizen of this country, the BJP member should not have made such a baseless accusation against police or any individual,” state Congress Chief Spokesperson, Ravinder Sharma said.

“In India, no one is an ultra or leftist-nationalist, all the citizens are nationalists. BJP believes that only those people who are associated with it are carry the badge of nationalism,” Sharma said.

Ravinder Raina, who is a BJP MLA from Noushera Assembly segment, had said on Thursday that some police officers are on the payrolls of Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI and militant outfits.

In a video, that has gone viral on social networking sites, Raina while talking to reporters is accusing a senior police officer Rakesh Kumar of acting as an ISI agent. Kumar is presently posted in border town of Rajouri district as Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP).

“There are some Pakistani elements in police department, who are receiving funds from ISIS, ISI, Hafiz Saeed, Lashkar-e-Toiba and Jaish-e-Mohammad. They are disturbing peace in Sunderban, Rajouri and Poonch,” claimed Raina.

The Congress leader said that in this country only BJP is undemocratic party.

“We are fighting a battle of democracy versus one-man-show of BJP. And we are winning because only democracy can win in this country,” the Congress leader Noushera told KNS.
