Rejecting the economic package announced by PM Narendra Modi, Congress Friday accused Coalition Govt for ignoring flood affected people of J&K State.

“It is a cruel joke with the flood affected people and is an insult to the injuries of affected people of Jammu and Kashmir,” state Congress chief, G A Mir, said in a party statement.

“Mere Rs 3.00 Lakh for fully damaged Pacca houses, Rs 1.50 Lakh for fully damaged Kacha houses, 1.00 Lakh for severely damaged Kacha houses and Rs 50.00 for severely damaged  Kacha houses is half baked relief package and is an insult to the injuries of people who have suffered heavily  due to Sept 2014 deluge,” he said.

“The biggest irony on the part of coalition government,” PCC Chief said, “PDP has betrayed people of Jammu and Kashmir for the sake of coming into power. Tall claims by Mufti Mohammad Sayeed about rehabilitation of flood affected was a political gimmick to secure votes from the people in valley.”

He said that keeping in view all aspects with regard to intensity of damages caused to houses and business establishment due to September 2014 deluge, Congress Party had projected a demand of Rs 10.00 Lakh for fully damages houses, Rs 6.00 Lakh for Severely damaged houses and Rs 3.00 Lakh for partially damaged houses with the Union government, but the PDP led coalition government let down the people in every respect and has triggered a sense of insecurity among the victims leaving them humiliated.

Mir also expressed his anguish over the completely leaving out a huge population who were affected by the floods and were provided a paltry a sum of Rs 3800.
