SRINAGAR: National Conference President Farooq Abdullah made a fervent appeal for unity and collective action during his campaign visit to Katra in support of the Congress party. Addressing a public gathering, Farooq Abdullah underscored the imperative of safeguarding the Constitution of India, asserting that the India Alliance is committed to this noble cause.

In his speech, Farooq Abdullah lambasted the BJP, accusing them of seeking to dismantle the foundational principles of the Indian Constitution. He emphasized the need for concerted efforts to counteract such threats and preserve the democratic fabric of the nation.

“The BJP’s agenda threatens the very essence of our Constitution. We must stand together to defend the values enshrined in it. Saving the Constitution is our collective responsibility, and we must rise to the occasion,” said Farooq Abdullah.

Highlighting the importance of unity in the face of divisive forces, he urged the people to unite against attempts to infringe upon their rights and freedoms. He decried the BJP’s attempts to impose its ideology on the populace, asserting that such actions undermine the pluralistic ethos of the nation.

“I urge you all to join hands and confront these forces of division. Our strength lies in our unity. Let us rally behind our common cause and ensure that our voices are heard,” he said, urging support for the Congress candidate in the upcoming elections.

Meanwhile, amidst political maneuvering in the Kashmir Valley, Farooq Abdullah expressed confidence in the National Conference’s prospects in the Anantnag-Rajori constituency. His statement comes in the wake of divergent stances between the National Conference and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) regarding seat-sharing arrangements.(KNO)
