Appealing people to maintain calm and brotherhood, various religious and political leaders of both Shia and Suni sects have decided to hold a peace march in Srinagar.

Believed to be  on the initiative of senior Hurriyat leader Aga Syed Hassan, various leaders including Mirwaiz Umar Faroooq, Molvi Abas Ansari, Aga Syed Hassan, Gh. Rasool Malik, Advocate Zahid Ali, Syed Saleem Geelani, Hakeem Ab. Rashid and a representative of Iftikar Hiussain Ansari had a more than 3 hour long meeting at Aga Syed Hassan’s residence on Sunday where they discussed the prevailing situation in the city particularly in the downtown areas, where youth from shia and suni sects are reportedly engaged in clashes.
