Police arrested a cop on Tuesday for allegedly abducting and raping a minor in Central Kashmir’s Kangan tehsil of Ganderbal district.
Police sources told CNS that a police constable Mustafa Cheechi resident of Sumbal Kangan (228/JKAP) of armed wing had abducted and raped a 15 year old girl from Hariganiwan area of Kangan and allegedly exploited her sexually.
The victim according to police approached the court and after that police booked the culprit. “We have registered an FIR vide number 8/2014 under section 363,376,345,506 of RPC against the accused and have also recorded the statement of the victim.”
A police official said that the victim in her statement has alleged that constable Mustafa Cheechi abducted her on gun point and continuously exploited her sexually. The statement reads that the condition of the victim deteriorated after which the culprit called her father from an unknown mobile number asking her to reach Srinagar and take her daughter to her home.
Police said that they are investigating the case and are waiting for the medical report.
