SRINAGAR: Militants on Thursday afternoon attacked the residence of a BJP leader in Nowgam area of Kashmir capital Srinagar.

Sources said that militants attacked the residence of a BJP leader identified as Anwar Khan in Aari Bagh Nowgam area in Srinagar, who was not at his residence.

Sources said that one constable guarding the residence of the BJP leader was injured and was rushed to SMHS hospital for treatment.

Sources identified the injured constable as Rameez Raja.

A police official told news agency KDC the area has been cordoned off and massive searches have been launched to nab the attackers.
