SRINAGAR: A policeman posted at District Police Lines Awantipora (Pulwama) died of a cardiac arrest last night.
Identified as Aijaz Ahmad, a resident of Ladhoo in Pampore area, he is believed to have suffered a massive cardiac arrest, leading to his death. The body will be handed over to the family after the conduct of necessary medico-legal formalities, an official added.
Meanwhile, a 20-year-old youth slipped to death in Dawar area of Gurez (Bandipora).
He has been identified as Muzamil Samoon, 20, son of Ghulam Mohammad Samoon, a resident of Khandyal. He slipped and fell into Kishanganga river at Dawar. He said that soon after the incident, he was immediately rescued and was shifted to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
The official said that police have registered a case in this regard and an investigation is taken up.
