During frisking in city centre Lal Chowk on Wednesday, police thrashed a youth and left him bleeding on the spot before swinging into action to disperse the angry youth.
The incident happened when a scooty-borne youth was intercepted by cops near Lal Chowk. The youth expressing resentment against frisking had an argument with the cops. The argument—as per the eye-witnesses, enraged the cops who started flexing muscles on the youth.
The youth left with blood-oozing wound on his head tried to seek explanations from cops. But soon a posse of police party showed up on the scene and dispersed the angry crowd.
Meanwhile while condemning the act, SP East told Kashmir Life that police has taken a serious note of the incident. “We have started investigation into the matter,” he said.
