Sixteen more people have tested positive of the novel coronavirus in Kashmir, taking the number of Covid-19 patients in J&K to 581.
An official said that among them, six were confirmed at Viral Diagnostic Lab of SKIMS Soura and ten other cases were confirmed at the Government Medical College led laboratory in Chest Disease hospital Dalgate.
He said 410 samples had been tested at the CD hospital laboratory in 24 hours out of which ten samples have tested positive when this report was filed.
Among new positive cases, he said nine are from Anantnag district, four from Budgam, one from Baramulla, one from Kulgam and one from Bemina area of Srinagar.
As of now, J&K has reported 581 cases, out of which 523 were in Kashmir and 58 in Jammu. Eight have died, while 176 recovered.
