Jammu and Kashmir Police Saturday said it arrested 17 persons for defying lockdown orders in Srinagar district.

A police spokesman in a statement said, “acting tough against the violators of Government prohibitory orders, Srinagar Police have arrested 17 persons in the Jurisdiction of Police Station Sadder for defying the restriction orders imposed by the government.”

“Cases under relevant sections of the law have been registered in Police Station Sader and further investigations have been taken up,” he said.

“Police have once again requested the general public to follow the restrictions imposed by Government in order to prevent the spread of Covid-19 and those who are violating the restriction orders will be dealt strictly,” said the spokesman.
