With two more doctors testing positive, a total of six doctors have been infected by a coronavirus in Jammu province, newspaper The Tribune reported.

One doctor had direct contact with Tablighi Jamaat activists who had attended the Nizammudin congregation. The retired doctor had attended a religious function at Bari Brahmana and came in touch with the Tablighis who also tested positive, reported The Tribune.

Among the six doctors tested positive, one has been cured and discharged.

On Tuesday morning, a prominent gastroenterologist of Jammu tested positive and late in the evening two more doctors tested positive. Those testing positive include a postgraduate student of GMC Jammu. With two more testing positive on Tuesday night the coronavirus count in Jammu has reached 54.

Earlier, a doctor serving in the Microbiology Department of the GMC had tested positive last week.

A woman dentist in the CHC Garhi in Udhampur district, a resident of Colonel Colony, Talab Tillo, had also tested positive. However, her husband, a doctor posted in Kathua, and other contacts had tested negative, The Tribune reported.
