District Magistrate Shopian today issued a final warning to the people who are hiding their travel history and asked them to report within a day failing which strict action will be taken against them.
District Magistrate who is also the Chairperson of District Disaster Management Authority, said that it has come to their notice during the process of contract tracing of COVID-19 positive cases that a number of people were hiding their travel history thereby putting at risk their own lives and that of the general public at large amounting to a criminal act besides being ethically and morally unacceptable.
District Magistrate said that such persons on notice and said all such persons who still have not reported their travel histories are given one last opportunity to report their travel histories on Control room numbers 01933-260825 7006188930 in within a period of one day failing which penal action as warranted under Disaster Management Act, Epidemic Disease Act and Indian Penal Code shall be initiated against all such persons which include imprisonment and fine.
