The Jammu and Kashmir Government has appointed three senior officers to facilitate the return of stranded people from different states of India.

According to Government Order No.543-JK(GAD) of 2020, an appreciable number of persons belonging to Jammu and Kashmir Including labourers and students are residing at different places across the country and are feeling insecure during the prevailing conditions of lockdown.

“ It has been felt prudent to augment the existing machinery to reach out to these stranded persons that will infuse a sense of satisfaction amongst them in these tough times,” reads the order.

“Accordingly, the sanction is hereby accorded to the deputation of the following officers to different states/Places with Headquarters, as mentioned against each, to reach out to persons of Jammu and Kashmir stranded, till the issues of these stranded people are settled,” it reads.

The above officers will liaise with local administration and State Government officials regularly and will act as a bridge between stranded people and State Government to facilitate their return/stay, reads the order.
