Coronavirus: J&K registers another death, toll 13

SRINAGAR: A 29-year-old Covid-19 positive patient from Habba Kadal area of  Srinagar district died at CD hospital on Sunday, taking the number of deaths due to novel Coronavirus disease to 13 in Jammu and Kashmir.

Dr Salim Khan nodal officer GMC Srinagar said that the patient from Habba Kadal who had tested positive on May 15 for Covid-19 died today afternoon.

Dr Khan said that the victim was previously operated in SMHS Hospital Srinagar by ENT surgeons for Ludwig’s Angina (submandibular abscess) and mediastinitis and had septic shock.

“She was in Surgical ICU there and tested positive for COVID-19. She was shifted to CD Hospital two days back,” he said.

With his death, the number of casualties due to the novel Coronavirus has reached to 13 in J&K. Earlier, 12 patients have died due to COVID-19 including ten from Kashmir and two from Jammu.
