Coronavirus: JK seals borders with Ladakh, HP and Punjab

The Jammu and Kashmir government on Monday has decided to seal Jammu Kashmir borders with Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and Ladakh completely as a precautionary measure to stop the spread of Coronavirus.

“Interstate/UT borders with Punjab,Himachal and Ladakh to be fully sealed. National Highway movement to be regulated. Inter district movement of vehicles to be strictly restricted.Essential service vehicles to ply normally,” said the Department of Information & Public Relations, Government of Jammu & Kashmir, on Twitter.

The union territory administration in Sunday announced a lockdown across Jammu and Kashmir till March 31 as part of its efforts to curb the spread of coronavirus.

People associated with 16 essential services, including healthcare, have been exempted from the restrictions.
