A complete lockdown is being observed in Kashmir for the 24th consecutive day on Saturday to prevent the spread of Coronavirus.

The markets across all districts of Kashmir valley remained closed and roads also remained blocked with concertina wires and manned by the police.

The lockdown began on March 19, a day after the first case tested positive in Srinagar. Only the people associated with essential services were allowed to move after checking their identity cards.

Educational institutions across Kashmir have already been closed, while all public places including gymnasiums, parks, clubs and restaurants have been shut down.

On Tuesday Prime Minister Narendra Modi called for a national lockdown from midnight on March 24 for 21 days.

“From 12 midnight, the whole country will go on lockdown. To save India, to save all citizens of India, to save you and your family, there will be a total ban on stepping out of home,” he had said.

As of now, J&K has reported 207 Coronavirus (Covid-19) positive cases , of which 197 are Active Positive, 06 have recovered and 04 have died.

Furthermore, 7726 persons have been kept in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 415 in Hospital Quarantine, 197 in hospital isolation and 27891 under home surveillance. Besides, 9925 persons have completed their 28-day surveillance period.

The Bulletin further said that till date 2754 samples have tested as negative till April 10, 2020.

Providing district wise stats, the Bulletin said that Srinagar has 51 positive cases wherein 49 are Active Positive, 01 have recovered and 01 have died, Bandipora 36 positive cases with 33 Active Positive, 02 have recovered and  01 died, Baramulla 30 positive cases with 29 Active Positive, 0 recovered and 01 died, Budgam 10 positive cases and all are Active Positive, Pulwama 03 positive cases-all Active Positive, Shopian and Kupwara with 13 positive cases each and all are Active Positive, and Ganderbal and Kulgam with 02 and 03 positive cases respectively all of whom are Active Positive.

Similarly, Jammu has 06 positive cases who are Active Positive, Udhampur 17 positive cases of which 16 are Active Positive, 0 recovered and 01 died, while as Rajouri and Kishtwar have 03 and 01 positive cases respectively wherein all the three in Rajouri are Active Positive and the single positive case has recovered fully in Kishtwar district.

The Bulletin also said that there are 19 positive cases of patients belonging to other States/UTs of which 17 are Active Positive and 02 cases have recovered.
