Jammu and Kashmir government on Wednesday ordered the closure of all primary schools, cinemas and anganwari centres in five districts of Jammu region till March 31, in view of the coronavirus threat.

Taking to a social networking site, Twitter,  government spokesman Rohit Kansal wrote:  “All Primary schools, Cinema Halls and Anganwari centres in the 5 districts of  Jammu, Samba, Kathua, Reasi and Udhampur to be closed till March 31.”

The coronavirus outbreak originated in China’s Wuhan in December and has spread to over 60 nations, killing more than 3,000 people and infecting over 90,000.

A woman from Kargil has tested positive for the virus in Jammu while dozens of persons have been quarantined to prevent the spread of the disease.
