Private Schools’ Association of Jammu and Kashmir announced a collaboration with Kashmir Welfare Trust (KWT) for the distribution of various food items among poor and needy families and persons in the society.

The Association had recently allowed use its resources in the shape of buildings, vehicles and manpower to effectively deal with the situation. Now further increasing the ambit of its social work, the Association has cooperated with a well known NGO Kashmir Welfare Trust to reach out to the needy persons of the society. The relief part of the work will be undertaken under the supervision of the head of Environment & Relief Council of PSAJK Manzoor Ahmad Wangnoo. He will supervise all the relief work jointly with KWT to serve the needy sections of the society.

“We are working overboard to help society in this hour of crisis. As everyone knows that during this time of shutdown many families are running short of edibles. People are out of work and out of money to buy even the basic things. So we have decided to do our bit in helping such people by providing the essential items to such families at their doorstep,” said G N Var president PSAJK.

“With its in-house donations, the Association will assemble packets of various essential items and in collaboration with KWT deliver it to homes of needy people. The packets will include Atta (flour), dal, edible oil, spices, soap and other items which may be in short supply of any family,” he said.

“Taking all precautions we will assemble the food packs and deliver it to families in the most efficient manner,” said Var.

The Association has appealed the government to help them in this endeavour by way of giving necessary permissions. “We hope that the concerned authorities issue us passes at the earliest so that there is no hindrance in the movement of our vehicles and men in delivering the service,” said Var.

The Association called on the people to call them on their numbers in case they feel any family or person needs help.

The Association has also appealed all the schools to come forward to help the people at this cubical juncture.
