Jammu and Kashmir Police on Sunday said that the action has been taken against the villagers of Dachoo for violating the District magistrate Shopian order.

A police spokesman in a statement said, “Today Shopian police booked violators of village Dachoo in FIR no.16/2020 u/s 188,270 IPC  at Police station Zainpora for violating the District magistrate Shopian order u/s 144 crpc by organising community function at their village Dachoo of ps Zainpora jurisdiction.”

“Restrictions were imposed in district Shopian by order of District Magistrate in the wakeup of epidemic declared due to COVID -19 virus,” he said.

“Shopian police has also requested people from all walks of life to cooperate with the administration and isolate themselves for prevention and control of COVID-19 virus,” said a police spokesman in a statement.

Prohibitory orders banning assembly of five or more people are in force across Jammu and Kashmir as part of the administration’s efforts to check the spread of the coronavirus infection.
