Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Moti Lal Kaul for Habba Kadal assembly segment is at the seventh rank in terms of votes cast. While the winner of the seat is still undeclared, the arrow of win is strongly pointed towards National Conference’s Shameema Firdous.

One of the constituencies on Bharatiya Janta Party’s “Mission 44+” radar, with almost 16000 migrant votes, Habba Kadal looked most close to favour BJP’s banking on boycott factor.

According to the election results, BJP’s Kaul has secured 210 votes from the constituency till now. The engineer-turned-politician Kaul, who is settled in Mumbai, is behind PDP’s Zafar Meraj and Congress’s Raman Mattoo. He has got less number of votes even against two independent candidates and Lok Jan Shakti Party president Sanjay Saraf.

The constituency had witnessed 21.01% polling on December 14.
