KL Report

SRINAGAR

A city court Monday ordered the Superintendent of Police (SP) south city to monitor the progress of the inquest proceedings pertaining to Zahid Iqbal drowning case.

According to the reports received by Kashmir News Service (KNS) police had recently declared that the cause of death of Zahid Iqbal was due to drowning. Family had registered their protest against the police verdict and has claimed that the police have left many loopholes in the case during the investigation. Family further had claimed that Zahid was murdered in ‘cold blood’.

Taking into consideration the application moved by Zahid’s father Mohammad Iqbal Bhat seeking investigation into the matter relating to the death of his son Zahid Iqbal, court today directed SP South to reinvestigate the case and to personally monitor the situation.
