SRINAGAR: The Chief Judicial Magistrate’s Court in Sopore has issued a proclamation under Section 82 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) against two individuals accused of evading court proceedings.
An official said that the accused, Mohammad Ashraf Mir, son of Abdul Gani Mir, a resident of Sher Colony, and Mohammad Ahsan Wani, son of Ghulam Ahmad Wani, of Minpur Krankshivan, Sopore, failed to appear before the court despite multiple summons.
The proclamation directs both accused to appear before the court by the specified date. Failure to do so will result in the attachment of their movable and immovable properties, in accordance with legal provisions.
Both accused have been untraceable, prompting the invocation of Section 82 CrPC to compel their appearance.
“Despite multiple non-bailable warrants issued earlier, the accused failed to appear before the court. The warrants were returned with endorsements by the local police, stating that the accused were ‘not at home and at some unknown place,’” official sources said.
Meanwhile, the authorities have urged the accused to comply with the court’s directives to avoid further legal repercussions. (KNO)
