Court Quashes Detention of Arwani’s Sehar Makroo

SRINAGAR

A Court on Tuesday quashed the detention of Sehar Ahmad Makroo under Public Safety Act and directed police to release him.

According to Advocate Bashir Ahmad Tak, police had arrested Sehar Ahmad Makroo, son of Muhammad Akram Makroo, resident of Arwani, in Bijbehara, on allegations of pasting posters in the locality, pelting stone on police, planning to snatch rifle of Army personnel, reports local news gatherer KNS.

He was booked by Police under an FIR vide number 349/2016 under section 13 unlawful act and 120B RPC under. Detention order under number 15/DMA/PSA/DET was passed on 31-03-2016.

Meanwhile, Advocate Bashir Ahmed Tak who was pleading the case of Sehar Ahmad Makroo said that Sehar’s age was below 18 years and was a student when he was arrested.

He said that Justice Ali Muhammad Magrey quashed his detention under PSA today and directed police to release him.
