A Court Wednesday quashed the detention of Hurriyat (g) activist under Public Safety Act and directed police to release him.
Police had arrested Hurriyat (g) activist, Peer Hamza Shah son of Ghulam Mohi-ud-din shah of Kuil, Muqam Banipora on charges of provoking youth for stone pelting and razing flags.
He had been booked by Sopore police under an FIR vide number 16/2016. Detention order was passed on February 3, 2016 vide order number 10/DMB/PSA/2016 dated 3/20/2016.
After Public Safety Act was slapped on him he was shifted to Kathua jail.
The court quashed his detention under PSA and directed police to release him. Advocate Bashir Ahmed Tak pleaded the case of the accused Hurriyat (g) activist. (KNS)
