COVID-19: DM Kupwara extends restrictions with certain relaxations

SRINAGAR: With an aim to control the spread of COVID-19 infection, District Magistrate Kupwara Anshul Garg on Tuesday extended the already imposed restrictions under section 144 CrPC and section 34 of Disaster Management Act across the district till July 25 or unless modified earlier.

As per an official communiqué, all shops dealing with dairy products and vegetables shall be allowed to operate from Monday to Friday from 7 am to 1 pm.

The concerned shop owners are directed to ensure prominent display of COVID-19regulations especially the usage of masks outside their shops and ensure that the customers adhere to social distancing within the premises.

There shall be no restriction on the opening of medical shops or private health institutions anywhere in the district as per the order.

The order further reads that there shall be complete restrictions on the movement of public transport including Sumos and Xylos throughout the district.

Movement of private transport shall be governed by Government Order under which only two passengers, besides, the driver shall be allowed in four-wheeler vehicle. There shall be no restrictions on the movement of vehicles carrying construction and other material for developmental works.

As per the official communication, all government offices shall continue to function normally with 100% attendance. Lead District Manager has been directed to issue guidelines and formulate roasters for bank branches to ensure no overcrowding in bank premises besides all Managers shall ensure adherence to social distancing and usage of masks in bank premises and may refuse services to any customer not following these guidelines.

The order further reads that concerned ADCs/SDMs shall issue deployment orders of Magistrates to check observance of guidelines and penalise violators in their respective jurisdictions.
