In consonance with the advisories on COVID-19, Principal District and Sessions Judge (PD&SJ) Baramulla, Sanjay Parihar on Wednesday said that the litigants need not come to the courts till March 31, except in the matters of bail, succession and other related matters, instead the lawyers shall remain present on behalf of the litigants.

He also informed that no adverse orders shall be passed due to the absence of the parties.

Meanwhile, Principal District and Sessions Judge chaired a meeting to take the appraisal of preparedness taken in the wake of COVID-19 outbreak.

The meeting was attended by Medical Superintendent Associated Hospital, Baramulla, Judicial officers, Senior Lawyers, stamp vendors, petition writers among other stakeholders.

Speaking on the occasion, the Judge sought cooperation from different stakeholders in tackling the exigency. He impressed that due care shall be taken for sanitizing the workplace on a daily basis and directed the municipal authorities to play an active role in this regard.

Furthermore, as per circular of the High Court, a dedicated team headed by Ist ADJ and comprising of Secretary DLSA, Chief Administrative Officer and Section Officer has been constituted for taking a day to day stock of the situation and appropriate remedial measures.
