SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Saturday reported two more deaths and 169 fresh positive cases of COVID-19, thus taking the number of total active cases in the Union Territory to 1,397.

With two more deaths, the death toll in J&K has reached to 4,530 and 169 fresh positive cases reported on Saturday have pushed the tally of positive cases to 341,459.

Of the exact number of 341,459 cases, 215,151 are from Kashmir division and 126,308 from Jammu division.

Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that among 169 new cases, 101 belong to Kashmir division while as 68 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 215,151 including 211,893 recoveries and 2,331 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 126,308 including 123,639 recoveries and 2,199 deaths.

The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 1,397 including 927 from Kashmir division and 470 from Jammu division.

With 107 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 335,532 which is 98.27 percent of the total cases.

“Cases tested positive in J&K include 48 from Srinagar, 15 from Baramulla, 05 from Budgam, 10 from Pulwama, 10 from Kupwara, 03 from Anantnag, 01 from Bandipora, 09 from Ganderbal, 00 each from Kulgam and 00 Shopian in Kashmir division while as 68 from Jammu division include 34 from Jammu division, 02 from Udhampur, 01 from Rajouri, 10 from Doda, 05 from Kathua, 01 from Samba, 00 from Kishtwar, 02 from Poonch, 00 from Ramban and 13 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.

Meanwhile, authorities said that no fresh cases of Mucormycosis popularly known as black fungus was reported in the UT and the tally stands at 50.

As per officials figures, 78,836 positive cases including 883 deaths and 77,505 recoveries are from Srinagar, 26,002 including 291 deaths and 25,547 recoveries are from Baramulla, 24,503 including 24,249 recoveries and 217 deaths are from Budgam, 15,736 including 15,490 recoveries and 195 deaths are from Pulwama, 14,979 including 167 deaths and 14,752 recoveries are from Kupwara, 16,735 including 16,510 recoveries and 208 deaths are from Anantnag, 10,174 cases including 10,023 and 111 deaths are from Bandipora, 11,014 including 10,834 recoveries and 82 deaths are from Ganderbal, 11,554 including 11,425 recoveries and 118 deaths are from Kulgam and 5,618 including 5,558 recoveries and 59 deaths are from Shopian.

In Jammu division, 54,240 including 52,785 recoveries and 1,157 deaths are from Jammu district, 11,482 including 11,327 recoveries and 139 deaths are from Udhampur, 11,386 including 11,129 recoveries and 239 deaths are from Rajouri, 8,069 including 7,877 recoveries and 137 deaths are from Doda, 9,393 including 9,227 recoveries and 153 deaths are from Kathua, 7,180 including 7,052 recoveries and 120 deaths are from Samba, 4,855 including 4,803 recoveries and 44 deaths are from Kishtwar, 6,609 including 6,483 recoveries and 100 deaths are from Poonch, 6,074 including 6,006 recoveries and 67 deaths are from Ramban and 7,020 including 6,950 recoveries and 43 deaths are from Reasi.

As per the daily information bulletin 5,231,075 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 7,814 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 1397 persons are in isolation.

According to the bulletin, 4,784,342 persons have completed the surveillance period and 432,992 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 19,390,526 samples are available. Out of 19,390,526 the number of samples tested negative stands at 19,049,067 while as 341,459 have tested positive, among them 1,397 persons are active, 335,425 persons have recovered and 4,530 persons have died.
