SRINAGAR: Just around nine percent population has been given the first dose of Covid-19 vaccination in 18-44 age group in Jammu and Kashmir for which vaccination started on May 1.

As per the official data available with the news agency KNO, around 43 percent population of the total is coming under 18-45 age group.

Data also reveals that just around 0.43 percent population under 18-45 age group are fully vaccinated as they have received both doses of the Covid-19 vaccine.

Figures available with the KNO suggest that in Srinagar of 622,249 persons, 78,590 persons have received the first jab while 10,260 have received both jabs.

“The percentage of persons who have received the first jab is 12.63 percent while 1.64 percent have received the second jab,” the data reveals.

In Kulgam of 213,557 persons which means 3.20 percent have received the first jab and no one has received the second jab. In Shopian, of 133,933, 3.64 percent received the first jab and none has received the second jab. In Bandipora, of 197,332, 2.10 percent have received first and no one has received the second jab. In Anantnag of 542,690 persons , 7.20 percent have received the first dose and one person has received second dose and in Baramulla of 507,144 persons 8.86 percent have received the first jab and one person has received the second jab.

In Kupwara out of 437,875 persons, 5.13 percent have received the first jab and no one has received the second jab. In Pulwama, of 281,957 persons 2.86 percent have received the first jab while no one has received the second jab. In Ganderbal of 149,645 persons, 8 percent have received the first jab and one person has received the second jab and in Budgam of 379,209 persons, 11.54 percent persons have received the first jab while no one has received the second jab.

Similarly in Jammu, Kishtwar, Doda, Udhampur, Kuthua, Ramban, Samba, Rajouri, Poonch, and Reasi 12.64 percent, 4.89 percent, 2.76 percent, 15.77 percent, 13.09 percent, 5.9 percent, 4.12 percent, 13.29 percent, 1.84 percent, and 10.02 percent persons have received the first jab while as 2.16 persons in Jammu and just a single person from Samba has received the second jab, however, rest of the districts are yet to open the account, the figures state.

In aggregate, of 6,171,534 persons 536,330 (08.69 percent) have received the first jab and 26,915 (0.43 percent) have received the second jab respectively, the figures read.

Pertinently vaccination drive in J&K along with the whole of India was started on January 16 this year.
