COVID-19 Vaccine, Booster Dose To Be Given 3 Months After Recovery: Govt

SRINAGAR: The central government in its latest order has said that the vaccination including the precaution dose for those people who have been afflicted with lab proven Covid19 be given three months after they have recovered from the infection.

In a letter to the states and union territories, Additional Secretary and Mission Director NHM, Vikas Sheel said that if a person returns a positive test, then all vaccination including the precaution (booster dose) be deferred by three months.

“In case of individuals having lab test proven SARS-2-COVID-19 illness, all Covid vaccination including Precaution dose to be deferred by 3months after recovery.”

The letter read that such an order was based on scientific evidence. “Such guidance is based on scientific evidence and recommendation of NTAGI.”

The additional secretary directed the concerned officials to take note and ensure effective dissemination of information in this regard.
