SRINAGAR: Amid rise in COVID-19 cases in Srinagar, the district administration Srinagar on Saturday decided to act tough against those who are found without face mask and violating the other protocols, stating that it won’t allow summer capital to become Maharashtra.
According to the news agency KNO, Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Aijaz Asad, who assumed the charge of DC two days back, said that it has been observed that the people don’t follow the COVID protocol, thus a meeting was held in this regard after the cases in Srinagar witnessed a surge in past couple of days.

He added that an announcement about Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) will be made public in coming days, adding that Rapid testing will also be done at the spot.
DC Srinagar also appealed people to follow the SOPs in letter and spirit, adding that the administration is monitoring the situation in schools very closely.
