SRINAGAR: Overnight, Jammu and Kashmir lost another 25 citizens across 20 districts as the new infections stand at 1117 indicating the new pattern of the last few days. However, more than double of the infected recovered from Covid19 and went home.

Kashmir lost 12 citizens and Jammu 13 in the last 24 hours.

The trend of infected people outnumbering the fully recovered people continues. In the last 24 hours, as many as 2363 people recovered thus reducing the number of active cases to 18581. The recoveries included 886 cases in Jammu and 1477in Kashmir.

Now the death toll of Covid19 in Jammu and Kashmir is 4143people including 2130 in Kashmir and 2013 in Jammu.

In the last 24 hours, eight deaths took place in Jammu city and four in Srinagar city, the information revealed by the government said.

The district-wise details suggest that Kashmir lost three citizens each in Pulwama, two in Anantnag, and one each in Ganderbal, Budgam and Baramulla.

Apart from eight deaths reported from Jammu city, the region lost each in one citizen each in Udhampur, Samba, Reasi, Rajouri, and Poonch.

In the last 24 hours, officials said 1117 new Covid-19 positives were reported from across Jammu and Kashmir. Of them, Srinagar alone accounted for 194, and Jammu, the other capital of the erstwhile state reported 50 cases.

Of the new cases detected in the last 24 hours, Kashmir accounts for 785 cases against 332 of the Jammu division.

In Kashmir, the new cases include 100 from Baramulla, 121 from Budgam, 77 from Pulwama, 81 from Kupwara, 74 from Anantnag, 44 from Bandipora, 30 from Ganderbal, 56 from Kulgam, and eight from Shopian.

From Jammu, officials said Udhampur reported 47, Rajouri 44, Doda 56, Kathua 16, Samba 11, Kishtwar 24, Poonch 22, Ramban 51, and Reasi 11.

Right now, Jammu and Kashmir has 18581 active cases, which includes 11632 Kashmir 6949 in Jammu.
