Cow Vigilantes Attack: Case Registered, One Arrested

SRINAGAR: Senior Gujjar leader GUftar Ahmad announced on social media that the police in Jammu have arrested a case and arrested at least one person.

The arrest came in the Garhote case where two cousins were intercepted by a mob of their own village and beaten to the pulp. The video clip and the photographs triggered a serious emotional crisis online for most of the last night. One of the injured is reportedly admitted to the hospital.

Though the community leaders persuing the case have confirmed a police case, the Jammu and Kashmir Police are yet to issues a formal statement on a serious breach of law and order. The attack, tragically came at a time, when people are desperate to stay away from the virus as numbers are surging on daily basis.
